Our dispatch team is a New York-based chauffeured transportation company that coordinates every Portland ride through vetted local affiliate operators. Oregon City is the seat of Clackamas County and sits at the southern end of the Portland metro area at Willamette Falls. Willamette Falls is one of the largest waterfalls in the United States by volume. The Oregon City Municipal Elevator, one of only four municipal elevators in the country, connects the upper and lower parts of the city. Common business destinations include the Clackamas County Courthouse, government offices, and industrial sites near the falls.
I-205 south is the direct route, and the evening southbound crawl usually starts around 3:30 p.m. and lasts until 6:30 p.m.
Drivers leave PDX on I-205 south and stay on it past Clackamas Town Center and Gladstone. They exit at Oregon City / Molalla Avenue or at Exit 10 for downtown and the municipal elevator. I-205 southbound backs up near the I-84 merge and again from Gladstone to Oregon City during the evening rush. Morning northbound traffic into Portland is also heavy, and the Abernethy Bridge over the Willamette is another pinch point during peak times.
SUVs start at $195 and are recommended for groups visiting Clackamas County offices or Willamette Falls.
A sedan works for one or two travelers. An SUV is the better choice for county staff with files, groups of three or more, or anyone with outdoor gear heading to the Clackamas River. Quotes include parking, tolls, flight tracking, and curbside pickup on the lower level outside baggage claim at PDX. Gratuity is not included unless arranged in advance. The dispatcher will ask about your destination to pick the best exit.
Add 15 to 25 minutes during the afternoon southbound rush and during Clackamas County Fair week in August.
The Clackamas County Fair, held in Canby in August, sends extra traffic through Oregon City on Highway 99E. Evening rush on I-205 is predictable but still slow. If your meeting is near the Oregon City Municipal Elevator or the historic McLoughlin District, allow time for the steep streets and stoplights. Winter fog in the Willamette Valley can also slow the final miles.
This route serves county government, legal, and manufacturing travelers heading to Oregon City and the Willamette Falls area.
We book frequent rides to the Clackamas County Courthouse, government offices, and industrial sites near the falls. Dispatchers will recommend an SUV if you have multiple passengers or county documents and equipment. We monitor traffic but cannot control I-205 slowdowns. Oregon City has narrow streets in the historic district, which can slow the final approach.
