Portland, OR · Hourly Charter

Hourly charter gives you a vehicle and driver reserved by the hour.

Written flat rates 24/7 dispatch Corporate billing available

Hourly charter is as-directed car service for flexible itineraries around Portland. Our dispatch team is a New York-based chauffeured transportation company, and every Portland hourly charter is coordinated through a vetted local affiliate operator. You control the route, and the driver waits while you shop, dine, tour, or attend appointments. Sedans, SUVs, vans, and Sprinters are available for most requests.

Locals and visitors use hourly charter for dining, shopping, and sightseeing.

Locals book the service for brewery and distillery tours, birthday dinners, wedding parties, and shopping trips. Visitors use it for Powell's City of Books at 1005 W Burnside, the Pearl District, Mississippi Avenue, Alberta Arts District, and Washington Park. Powell's occupies a full city block and is one of the largest independent bookstores in the world. Washington Park covers more than 410 acres and includes the Oregon Zoo, Hoyt Arboretum, and Portland Japanese Garden. The Portland Art Museum and Oregon Historical Society are also common stops for visitor itineraries. Corporate clients use hourly service for client entertainment and multi-stop site visits. Summer weddings, fall foliage drives, and December holiday light tours keep demand high.

Sedans, SUVs, vans, and Sprinters match different group sizes.

Sedans suit couples or solo travelers, while SUVs fit small groups with outdoor gear. Vans and Sprinters handle parties of six to fourteen. You can start downtown, in the Pearl, or at a hotel and direct the driver as needed. Garage-to-garage billing applies, so time begins when the vehicle leaves its base and ends when it returns.

Pricing is based on vehicle type and total reserved time.

Sedans start at $120 per hour with a three-hour minimum. SUVs start at $150 per hour, and vans start at $150 per hour. Sprinters start around $240 per hour with a four-hour minimum. An eight-hour sedan charter starts around $680, while an eight-hour Sprinter starts around $1,080. Rates do not include meals, tasting fees, or admission tickets. Parking, bridge tolls, and entrance fees are billed separately. Gratuity is not included unless arranged in advance.

One limitation is that you pay for garage-to-garage time.

Hourly charters are billed from garage to garage. You pay for the driver's travel to your pickup and back to the garage. Downtown parking can be expensive and scarce near the Portland Saturday Market, Pearl District, and Washington Park attractions. Weekend events at Providence Park can also slow traffic on I-405 and SW Morrison Street. Traffic on I-5, I-84, or US-26 during rush hour can cut into your usable time.

What a three-hour block can hold

Three hours is the minimum, and it goes further than most people expect when the car never has to be hailed. A typical evening: pickup at a Pearl District hotel, dinner off NW 23rd Avenue, a show at the Keller Auditorium or the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, and a ride home without looking for parking. A typical afternoon for visitors: Washington Park for the Japanese Garden and the Rose Test Garden, then Powell’s City of Books on Burnside.

Because you direct the route, you can add, drop or reorder stops as the day goes. The chauffeur stays with the vehicle between stops, so shopping bags and coats can stay in the car.
