Medical center transport is scheduled car service for patients, family members, and caregivers. Our dispatch team is a New York-based chauffeured transportation company, and every Portland medical ride is dispatched through a vetted local affiliate operator. The service is for people who need a reliable car rather than an ambulance. The service includes rides to and from PDX for out-of-town appointments and transport between multiple clinics in one day. Sedans, SUVs, and vans are available.
Patients and families use the service for OHSU, Providence, Legacy, and other facilities.
Patients travel to OHSU Hospital on Marquam Hill, Providence Portland Medical Center at 4805 NE Glisan, Legacy Emanuel at 2801 N Gantenbein, and Adventist Health Portland. Out-of-town patients fly into PDX for treatment at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute or Shriners Children's Portland. Seniors and post-surgical patients use the service for follow-up appointments and physical therapy. OHSU is connected to the South Waterfront by the Portland Aerial Tram, which runs daily except during maintenance closures. VA Portland Health Care System and Kaiser Permanente facilities also generate regular bookings. Demand stays steady throughout the year, with spikes during flu season and after major holidays.
Sedans, SUVs, and vans accommodate different mobility needs.
Sedans work for ambulatory patients traveling alone or with one caregiver. SUVs provide easier entry for passengers with mobility aids. Vans can accommodate folding walkers or wheelchairs if requested in advance. Child safety seats can be requested when transporting pediatric patients. Drivers assist with doors and steadying arms but do not provide medical care.
Pricing is route-based or hourly, depending on the itinerary.
Point-to-point rides from PDX to OHSU or downtown start at $130 for a sedan. PDX to Beaverton starts at a written flat rate, and PDX to Hillsboro starts at $120. Multi-appointment days are billed hourly from $120 per hour with a three-hour minimum. An hourly charter is often cheaper than two separate point-to-point rides when you have three or more stops. Caregivers ride at no extra charge when accompanying a patient. Parking, waiting time beyond 15 minutes, and after-hours fees are billed separately. Gratuity is not included unless arranged in advance.
One limitation is that we are not a medical transport provider.
We do not carry stretchers, oxygen, or lift equipment. Passengers must be ambulatory or use their own wheelchairs. Drivers cannot lift patients, administer medication, or enter exam rooms. We cannot wait inside hospital buildings or provide bedside assistance. If you need wheelchair transport, please request an accessible van in advance.
